The Aligned Action Workspace
Think, Actions, and Time are no longer separate pages — they’re panels in one workspace. Open just the outliner when you’re thinking, bring in your lists when you’re committing, summon the calendar when you’re placing work in time. The workspace shows only what you ask for, so each surface stays fast and calm.
Panels
Three panels, each on or off:
- Outline — your thinking space (the outliner)
- Actions — your committed lists (@today, @next, @later)
- Time — your calendar (day view when sharing space, week view when it has room)
Clicking Think, Actions, or Time in the sidebar opens the workspace with that panel front and center. From there, compose whatever layout the moment needs.
The Panels menu
The small dots at the top right show which panels are on. Click them — or press Ctrl+\ (⌘\ in the desktop app) — to open the Panels menu, then press a letter:
- O / L / T — show or hide Outline, List, Time (the menu stays open so you can compose)
- S — open or close your Story strip
- F — Full plan: everything on, including this week’s story
You can also type “panel” into the command palette (Ctrl+K) from anywhere.
One panel always stays open
You can’t close your last panel — the workspace quietly keeps one on so you always have somewhere to work.
Arranging panels
- Resize — drag the thin border between panels; double-click it to reset
- Maximize — hover a panel’s header and click the expand icon to give it the whole workspace; click again to bring your layout back
- Close — the ✕ in a panel’s header hides it (its state is kept — reopening is instant)
The Story strip
Your Success Story rides above the panels — press S or click the story title at the top. Switch horizons with the Future / Quarter / Week pills, and edit in place (it saves as you type).
Want to focus on the story alone? Click its expand icon: the story fills the workspace and your panels fold into a small rail below — Outline · Actions · Time — one click brings any of them back, right where you need it (add a task, check your calendar). Press Esc to return to your previous layout.
